The post is funded by Institute of Cardiovascular Medicine and Science (ICMS) that aims to foster research collaboration between the Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital, The Royal Brompton Hospital London and Harefield Hospital London. The Research Associate will support the ICMS’s Executive Committee to deliver an array of complex strategic projects. This will include the research activities and outputs of the ICMS’s two working groups; Vascular Biology and Heart Failure and Rhythm Management. The role holder will be responsible for driving forward projects and studies, raising the profile of research activities across the Institute and enhancing the contribution from cardiovascular clinicians. The post-holder will lead and facilitate regular interaction of clinicians, industry partners and other stakeholders, co-ordinate regular meetings of each working group and work closely with the Chairs and co- Chairs to develop the ideas, themes and concepts into project outcomes, for example research grant applications or papers, clinical registries, service evaluations or educational materials. The post-holder will also lead on the creation of records and databases to support these projects and studies, as well as lead on the on-going collection of data through all three hospitals’ clinical information systems. The post-holder will have the opportunity to conduct their own research as and when opportunities arise.

Contract description (eg Permanent): Fixed term for 2 years with a view to extend for a further year
