Learning Technologist (Instructional Designer)

King's College London - Informatics and Technology Enhanced Learning Hub (iTEL Hub)

The purpose of this role is to work with a team of Learning Technologists at the Dental Institute (KCLDI) and the Florence Nightingale Faculty for Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care (FNFNMPC) to design and evaluate learning and teaching technologies and to develop high quality learning resources.

Learning Technologists at both faculties manage various e-learning projects (small and large scale) and are involved in the development, delivery and support of blended and distance learning programmes.

The post holder is expected to have expertise in Learning Design. They will actively collaborate with academics and students in creating engaging and interactive multimedia resources. They will together produce and conceptualise learning designs that match learning outcomes and meet students’ expectations. They will apply instructional design approaches and e-learning content development strategies.

The post holder must also have sufficient experience in using authoring tools, graphic design and web-development skills (including HTML, CSS, wireframe, photography and filming and graphics design) in order to produce high quality interactive multimedia resources and to provide guidance and training to students and staff on the use of digital technologies and learning technology solutions.

The selection process will include a presentation, an assessment and a panel interview
