Animal Technician

We are looking for an animal technician to join our friendly, hardworking team and be actively involved in the daily care and maintenance of animals within our modern biofacility.

The job duties will involve general husbandry, looking after welfare requirements, record keeping, checking and recording environmental parameters, health monitoring, general hygiene and cleaning.

Ideally you will hold an Institute of Animal Technology Level 2 qualification, or at least GCSEs in English, Maths and a Science subject (or equivalent). The successful candidate will be expected to hold a Home Office Personal License, or have completed Home Office licensee training (modules A - C) in order to apply for a licence.

You should be positive, reliable and able to interact with team colleagues and research staff.  Some experience in a technical/laboratory setting, with specific experience working with rodents or fish and xenopus is also essential.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment and a security check.
