Anatomy Technician / Prosector

University of Aberdeen - Medicine, Medical Sciences & Nutrition

You will work closely with 3 other technicians, academic and secretarial staff within a modern, busy and well-equipped anatomy facility, to deliver day-to-day undergraduate teaching to over 800 students each year. You will require a good working knowledge of human anatomy to co-ordinate anatomy practical classes and examinations and to prepare prosections for teaching purposes. You will be trained in embalming and care of cadaveric material and you will be self-directed and organised to ensure that comprehensive records are maintained to the standards required by the Anatomy Act. You will carry out other general technical duties as required and there will also be opportunities to be involved with research projects and the development and delivery of postgraduate and surgical courses.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 4 (£22,214 - £25,728 per annum per annum) spinal point negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.

Any appointment will be made subject to satisfactory references and a 6 month probation period.
