Paediatric Clinical Research Fellow

This is an exciting opportunity for a research fellow to take part in the wide range of ongoing paediatric research activity primarily based within the Oxford Vaccine Group (OVG), part of the University Department of Paediatrics. The OVG is involved in infection related research and it has strong links to Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The OVG attracts funding from major research bodies in the UK and abroad including the European Commission (EC), NIHR, MRC, Wellcome Trust, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, GAVI and multiple commercial companies focused on clinical work.

This postholder will have a strong interest in paediatric infectious diseases, microbiology, immunology or Public Health. You will gain experience in clinical research in a multi-disciplinary academic environment. You may also have the opportunity to participate in paediatric outpatient clinic and an in-patient consultation service in paediatric infectious diseases and be given the opportunity to be involved in teaching of medical students, nurses and paediatric trainees in infectious diseases and immunology.

Candidates will be required to have the MRCPCH or equivalent. The position is full-time and ideally candidates should be available to start as soon as possible. The post is funded for 1 year in the first instance but may be renewable with the potential opportunity to develop a programme of work towards a higher degree.
