An excellent opportunity for a full-time HR Assistant has arisen within the Department of Computer Science. The team co-ordinates the recruitment of all staff within the department, include researchers and academic staff who carry out cutting edge research in a huge range of computer science areas, such as artificial intelligence, cyber security, quantum computing and how humans interact with mobile devices, making the department a really interesting, current and exciting place to be! This is a busy, varied and complex role with huge opportunity to interact with a diverse range of people and learn new skills.

Reporting to the HR Manager and supporting the HR Advisor, you will provide administrative support and co-ordination for recruitment campaigns and induction of new staff, data management, administering accurate payroll changes on our HRIS system, co-ordination of events such as training workshops, maintaining staff records on various IT databases, and providing general HR administration support, ensuring the implementation of associated policies and procedures.

We are seeking applicants with GCSE (grade A - C) level English and Maths, or equivalent experience demonstrating ability to produce high quality correspondence and work accurately with figures and data. You will be able to work well in a team as well as independently, possess excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive and supportive working relationships with internal and external colleagues, and provide excellent customer service to job applicants, and external organisations with whom you may come into contact. Candidates should also be willing to undertake formal training towards the CIPD level 3 certificate in HR Practice. Experience of working within a HR role and using a HRIS system is desirable.
