Accommodation Security Officer

University of Bath - Security Department

This is an exciting position at an International University for any applicant that is looking to help and support students within a higher education setting; the position is based around the Campus and City Campus Buildings, it includes many aspects of both security and student welfare.

Together with a team of security staff and student wellbeing staff the postholder is responsible for ensuring a safe environment throughout both campus and city campus student accommodation and other University Buildings.

The role is strongly customer focussed and you must demonstrate an ability to perform well within a team and also be able to demonstrate the use of initiative whilst working alone when dealing with emergencies, medical first aid response, alarm activations and many other reported incidents.

You will be expected to be computer literate and able to operate a number of software packages, both bespoke to the University as well as more general software (training will be given as required). You must also hold a full manual driving licence for motorcars and a Security Industry Authority licence to perform the role.

The basic working week is of 38 hours which includes 36.5 hours + 1.5 hours contracted overtime; these hours will be worked on a shift basis generally covering 24/7 365 days of the year.

The appointment will be made subject to an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) clearance being obtained.
