Senior Learning Technologist / E-Learning Applications Manager (Maternity Cover)

The E-Learning Unit (ELU) is recruiting a Senior Learning Technologist (E-Learning Applications Manager) to work on a part-time basis (0.4FTE) as maternity cover. This role is offered as a job share with the existing post holder (working 0.6FTE) for up to one year.

Situated within Student and Academic Services, the E-Learning Unit provides strategic direction for e-learning at QMUL and works to promote, support and develop e-learning across the institution. We are responsible for institution-wide e-learning applications such as the online learning environment QMplus (based on Moodle and Mahara), Q-Review lecture capture (based on Echo360), and Turnitin for plagiarism detection.

The purpose of this post is to manage, develop, lobby for, promote, train staff in the use of, and account for the successful use of e-learning applications in delivering a high quality educational experience to all QMUL students.

The successful candidate will have an undergraduate honours degree or equivalent and, ideally, a professional or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. e-learning or teaching and learning). The post holder will have a rare combination of educational expertise, the ability to communicate with all stakeholders in a confident and inspiring manner, broad technical knowledge of learning technologies, excellent organisation skills and a sensibility that is both strategic and detailed.

The post is a 0.4FTE appointment for up to one year. We would expect the successful candidate to hold the role for the full period, unless the post holder expresses her right to return to work early. Starting salary will be in the range of £45,577 - £50,881 pro rata per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave adjusted pro rata and a defined benefit pension scheme.
