Fixed Term Position until 31 December 2020.

The School of Engineering is seeking a Research Fellow to assist the Principal Investigator and the project collaborators in the successful execution of the project: Underpinning Power Electronics: Switch Optimisation Theme. The aim of the project is to design, fabricate and benchmark SiC IGBTs, comparing them to the best existing technology. You will play a major leading role in the project, helping to shape the direction of the project based on the current state-of-the-art in this field and our achievements in the cleanroom. You will help to manage the activities at Warwick, working as part of a small team including two academics specialising in SiC devices, and material growth, and two new PhD students. You will also be responsible for communicating with and managing work from the three project partners, who are Newcastle, Coventry and Cambridge Universities, all leaders in their own specialist fields.

This is a fixed-term contract. The anticipated start date for this post is 2 January 2018. The successful candidate will be offered a contract to 31 December 2020.

If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant on level 5 of the University grade structure (£28,936). Upon successful award of your PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure (£29,799).
