Research Associate in Cognitive Neuroscience

University of Oxford - Department of Experimental Psychology

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic postdoctoral researcher to join a team of scientists and clinicians in the Cognitive Neurology Group. The team is led by Professor Masud Husain and hosts a wide range of research associated with decision-making, motivation and working memory in healthy people and patients with neurological disorders.

The post is available for 3 years funded by the Wellcome Trust.

The postholder will have responsibility for carrying out research in healthy participants and patients with neurological disorders and provide guidance to less experienced members of the research group, including research assistants and students. You will contribute to the design, testing and analysis of behavioural, psychological and imaging data. The project provides an opportunity to work alongside colleagues in the Department of Experimental Psychology as well as hospital settings and the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroscience.

With a PhD awarded (or thesis to be submitted), the successful candidate will have proven experience in cognitive neuroscience and an established track record with publications. You will be resourceful with the ability to act on your own initiative, possess excellent organisational and presentation skills and be experienced in the use of Matlab or coding to design paradigms and analyse data.

You will be required to upload a covering letter explaining how you meet the job requirements, as well as a CV and details of two referees as part of your online application.

Only applications received before 12.00 midday on 20 October 2017 will be considered.

Please note that the University of Oxford's retirement policy is changing. With effect from October 1 2017, all employees at Grade 8 and above will have a retirement age of 68, and all employees at Grades 6 and 7 will no longer have a set retirement age. Further details are available at:
