The University of Manchester - School of Social Sciences

Duration : 18 Months
Faculty / Organisational Unit : Humanities
Division : Sustainable Consumption Institute Projects
Location : Oxford Road, Manchester

You will work on developing the research agenda of the SCI with a particular focus on environmental practices in everyday life, such as those related to food, waste, energy, transport, and citizenship. You will primarily be employed to develop and carry out research projects that explore various aspects of everyday environmental knowledge, values, attitudes and practices and how these are enacted and negotiated within and between private and public spheres (e.g., family/household and neighbourhood/city). You will be encouraged, in collaboration with colleagues, to develop co-authored publications and research grant applications and to further other research activities that advance the SCI agenda related to knowledge exchange and impact. You would also be involved, by negotiation, in other collaborative projects of the SCI, especially in the later stages of their tenure. The position will offer opportunities for mentoring on career plans and the development of an independent research agenda.
