Research Associate in MIMO Beamforming in Vehicular Networks

Lancaster University - School of Computing and Communications

Applications are invited for a Research Associate position in the beamforming design for advanced vehicular networks.

Your role will be to contribute actively to this Innovate-UK funded research project in vehicular networks. The aim of this project is to develop sophisticated and robust beamforming in realistic vehicular environments. Your main tasks will be to develop signal processing algorithms in vehicular networks, design transceiver algorithms with limited feedback, devise low complexity detection methods robust to the dynamic mobility of vehicles in future communication systems.

You should hold a relevant degree (e.g. Electronic/Electrical, Control or Computer Engineering) in the research field of wireless and mobile communication network systems. Experience in convex optimization, statistic signal processing, MIMO systems, millimeter-wave or cognitive radio networks would be highly desirable.

You must have very good skills in interpersonal communications, preparation of presentations and journal papers. You will collaborate with teams from other universities and companies and will be actively involved in meetings, workshop and conferences.

You will have responsibility for relevant tasks of the project and be expected to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

This is a fixed term appointment for 20 months.

Please direct informal enquiries to Professor Zhiguo Ding (School of Computing and Communications, Lancaster University), e-mail: z.ding@lancaster.ac.uk. More information can be found at http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/staff/dingz/
