Research Fellow (Food Engineering)

Sheffield Hallam University - Faculty of Arts, Computing, Engineering and Sciences

Fixed Term Date - 31/07/19.

Sheffield Hallam works with all kinds of food organisations from local SMEs to multinational partners including Nestlé and Greencore. Exchanging knowledge and using cutting edge technology, we help them develop their people, products and processes - to grow and enhance their business.

The Sheffield Innovation Programme (SIP) is a £3m three year initiative part funded by the England European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The programme aims to fuel business engagement, innovation and collaboration between higher education and the food industry. The National Centre of Excellence for Food Engineering is looking for a research fellow to identify regional companies and work with them to deliver business enhancing food engineering projects - as well as developing longer term partnerships that have an academic benefit to the University.

You'll have a doctorate and experience of carrying out research or commercial work in a relevant field. Some experience of business engagement with the food industry would be an advantage, but it's not essential. We're looking for someone with interpersonal and problem-solving skills to connect with clients and deliver solutions, working effectively both independently and as part of multi-disciplinary teams.
