Salary: £27,285 to £28,936 (PhD not awarded)
           £29,799 to £38,833 (PhD Awarded)

We are seeking to appoint a researcher to work in the laboratory of Dr Lidija Siller in the School of Engineering on the development of thermoelectric materials and thermal insulation. The project will explore several synthesis methods for production of different thermoelectric aerogel materials that will be part of the prototype device.

You must have extensive experience in synthesis of composite materials such as aerogels and/or nanowire/nanoparticle materials and their characterisation. Characterisation methods used are BET, XRD, SEM, FTIR, Raman etc.

A PhD (awarded or near completion) in a materials, chemical engineering or chemistry field is required.

You will demonstrate a high degree of organisation, ability to plan complex experimental studies, excellent communication skills and proven ability to write publications.

The post is fixed term for up to 18 months, starting 01 December 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.
