EEG Research Engineer

As a EEG Research Engineer, you will conceive and develop analytics to track cognitive well-being, and you will be responsible for the on-going evaluation of our complete system of games, EEG headset, and cloud analytics.

You Will:

  • Work with the Chief Scientific Officer and Senior EEG Research Engineer to to evaluate, select and test state-of-the-art analytics methods
  • Work with our neuroscience, trial management and game dev teams to test games and tasks that tap core cognitive functions, and evaluate data quality in the recordings that we collect
  • Support the the Machine Learning Engineer in implementing and deploying analytics to the cloud
  • Keep up to date with latest literature and emerging computational methods for the analysis of EEG
  • Author whitepapers and research papers that describe our systems 

Technical Requirements:

  • Significant experience in the design and analysis of EEG/MEG experiments
  • Knowledge of core machine learning concepts, and practical experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques
  • Excellent coding skills
  • Deep knowledge of relevant mathematical concepts (esp linear algebra, probability, statistics, optimisation)

Preferred:

  • Python and scientific computing packages (numpy, scipy, pandas, scikit-learn)
  • Automated methods for preprocessing, selecting and cleaning EEG data
  • EEG and behaviourally based metrics of cognitive performance, impairment and neurodegeneration
  • Time-series and causal analysis
  • Software engineering skills (modularisation, version control, etc)
  • Software or hardware testing skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD or research Masters in a relevant field (e.g. Cognitive Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Brain-Computer Interfaces)
  • 1 year of post-doctoral or equivalent industrial experience
