We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Research Associate or Research Assistant, in the laboratory of Professor Bert van den Berg. The project will focus on investigating how the asymmetry of the Gram-negative bacterial outer membrane is maintained. 

You will have or be close to completion of a PhD in molecular microbiology, biochemistry, structural biology or related areas and experience in laboratory-based research on microbiology, genetic manipulation, biochemistry and structural biology, including (membrane) protein crystallography and protein-protein interactions. Experience with Gram-negative organisms would be advantageous. 

Please be advised that due to a new minimum salary threshold of £30,000 per annum imposed by the UKVI, this post may not qualify for University sponsorship under Tier 2 of the points based system.

This post is tenable from 1st January 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter, and is fixed term for a duration of 3 years.
