Salary: £39992 per annum to £47722 (pro rata if part time), together with USS pension benefits if required.

Main Purpose of the Post

If appointed as Senior Lecturer (Grade 9), the successful applicant will be expected to:

Research (Enhanced)

  • To produce excellent research in line with the University’s REF strategy and to contribute particularly to work that has  definable and measurable social and economic impacts
  • To enhance the research environment and reputation of the Academy
  • To deliver a record of research outputs and their dissemination in quality publications or other media.
  • To achieve success in securing resources to underpin research activity with responsibility for designing, planning and managing a sustained programme of research and of conducting original investigations within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • To increase esteem and recognition for contribution to the discipline through making a personal contribution on research developments.
  • To take responsibility for effective postgraduate student supervision and development.

Teaching (core)

  • Contributing to the planned Masters scheme currently being developed. Development and delivery of teaching to the appropriate standard, ensuring that L&T policy and procedures are adhered to.
  • Demonstrating awareness of current research and knowledge in the field and integrating this into teaching by developing innovative practice in the light of this activity
