Senior Research Associate in Statistics for Food, Environment & Health

University College London - UCL Statistical Science

The post holder will be expected to conduct research on the synthesis of evidence from multiple models and data sources, to understand the interactions between food systems, the environment, and human health. The research will contribute to the Sustainable and Healthy Food Systems (SHEFS) research programme, which is funded by the Wellcome Trust. This programme is a collaboration between the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), University College London (UCL), the University of Aberdeen, and several other institutions in London, along with collaborators in South Africa (UKZN, Durban) and India.

The main purpose of the role is to provide a statistical framework for integrating the evidence from the different strands of the SHEFS programme, accounting appropriately for uncertainties in the underlying data and models and delivering results in a form that is appropriate for the evaluation of policy options. The post holder will help to co-ordinate the activities of the other London-based research team members, and will collaboratively write-up research for publication in international, peer-reviewed journals.

The post is available from 1 December 2017 and is funded until 31 March 2021 in the first instance.

Further funding may be available.
