We are seeking to employ a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Low Energy Electron Track Structure Simulation. The position will be based at the Dalton Cumbrian Facility (DCF), located at the Westlakes Science & Technology Park in West Cumbria.

You will design, develop and utilise computer simulation codes for the study of radiation chemistry, especially the ultrafast processes of low energy electrons at water – oxide interfaces.

You will have (or expect to receive) an earned Doctorate in physical science, preferably radiation chemistry, as well as experience in developing and using Monte Carlo simulation codes to understand the processes underpinning radiation chemical kinetics. Good IT skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office are also essential. Good time management, organisational and communication skills and previous experience of working with multiple demands and in a team environment are also expected.
