Job Purpose

To contribute to the delivery of an excellent student experience in the leading RTPI-accredited Planning School in Scotland by contributing to teaching, assessment and administration processes associated with undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. To undertake scholarship to enhance learning and teaching in the School of Social & Political Sciences’ Urban Studies Subject Area.

Standard Terms & Conditions

Salary will be on the University’s Research and Teaching Grade, level 7, £34,520 - £38,833 per annum.

This post is full time with funding available until 1 December 2019.

The School of Social & Political Sciences delivers two postgraduate taught masters programmes via the University of Glasgow/University of Nankai Joint Graduate School. The Joint Graduate School involves academic staff teaching condensed courses at Nankai University in Tianjin, China, in English and engaging with equivalent University of Nankai academic and administrative staff in the delivery and management of the programmes.

The post-holder will be requested to play a role supporting the Joint Graduate School’s programmes and consequently may involve the post-holder visiting and teaching at Nankai University.

New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months.

The successful applicant will be eligible to join the Universities' Superannuation Scheme. Further information regarding the scheme is available from the Superannuation Officer, who is also prepared to advise on questions relating to the transfer of Superannuation benefits.
