NHS Operations Officer

Bournemouth University - Faculty of Health and Social Sciences

At BU our vision is to create a stimulating, challenging and rewarding University experience, through sharing a unique fusion of education, research and professional practice and inspiring our students and staff to enrich the world. Our highly skilled and creative workforce is comprised of individuals drawn from a broad cross section of the globe, and who reflect a variety of backgrounds, talents, perspectives and experiences to build our global learning community.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Faculty of Health & Social Sciences for an NHS Operations Officer. This role has an internal focus in relation to the Operations of the Faculty, but also has a clear external dimension dealing with Suppliers, and stakeholders such as NHS Trusts and other external organisations that contribute to the supply and teaching for professional and other programmes of study.

The post holder will be expected to work autonomously on aspects of finance, contracts, logistical office moves, health and safety and student transport/timetabling under the direction of the Director of Operations for the Faculty and the Operations Manager. Therefore, the successful postholder will have evidence of a strong administrative background with proven financial experience.

This role is a key support to all operations of the Faculty, but will have a particular focus around professional programmes. You will quickly build a good knowledge and understanding of the Faculty its activities and therefore be able to offer sound advice to colleagues covering the full remit of the role.

As part of the Faculty’s Finance and Resources team, you will have specific responsibilities for building and maintaining excellent relationships with all stakeholders and be committed to provide service excellence in support of the staff and student experience.
