PhD Studentship: Centre For Vision, Speech and Signal Processing

University of Surrey - Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering

Funding is available for an exceptional (minimum first class bachelor’s degree) UK/EU PhD candidate to study at the prestigious Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing at the University of Surrey. CVSSP is one of the largest research centres of its kind, with more than 120 research staff dedicated to all aspects of computer vision, machine learning and related fields. This funding includes payment of all tuition fees, and a tax-free stipend at EPSRC rates.

In particular the studentship will focus on the application of modern sensing and deep learning techniques for robotic perception and decision making, but there is some scope for flexibility based on the student’s research interests. Interested candidates should contact Dr. Simon Hadfield via email (s.hadfield@surrey.ac.uk) or telephone (01483 689856).
