The Capturing our Coast (CoCoast) programme is looking to recruit a Project Co-ordinator who will contribute to a national marine ecological research programme, addressing questions on the impacts of climate change and other anthropogenic threats to intertidal community structure and biodiversity, engaging a unique network of citizen scientists in the data collection.

You  will provide co-ordination between the 7 partner institutes ensuring consistency in protocol implementation and volunteer training and support. She/he will contribute to the analysis of data and preparation of papers for publication.

You should have a PhD awarded or nearing completion in marine ecology, or a BSc awarded in an area of marine ecology or other appropriate marine/ecology/environmental science, with additional professional experience in field ecology, appropriate research or consultancy experience in a relevant marine ecology field, and experience of project management.

You must demonstrate good teamwork skills and the ability to liaise with a range of audiences and professional organisations, and show evidence of ability to work with volunteers or members of the public. You must be willing to work weekends and evenings where required.

Funded by Heritage Lottery Fund, CoCoast is a national marine citizen science project, collating information on abundance and distribution of intertidal species and addressing questions on the impacts of marine invasives, disturbance and climate change.
