Research Fellow in Modelling of Pulsed Column and Mixer Setter Operations

You will be a member of the team on the EPSRC-funded project PACIFIC- Providing a Nuclear Fuel Cycle in the UK for Implementing Carbon Reductions. PACIFIC is a multi-disciplinary programme across 12 UK universities that supports a future nuclear fuel cycle in the UK. It aims to provide a world-class programme of relevant research into the manufacture, performance, and recycle of current and advanced nuclear fuels. On PACIFIC, the two Themes of Nuclear Fuel and Separations Technology are integrated into a single programme with a common goal. Your work will be in the Separations theme, where the project aims to provide a proof of concept for an integrated flowsheet capable of providing a product suitable for fast reactor fuels from a thermal fuel feed. 

Enthusiastic and motivated, you will hold a first degree and a PhD in a relevant engineering or physical science subject. You will have experience in the development and use of CFD codes, especially Openfoam and its associated modules, for advanced mathematical modelling, simulation techniques for fluid flows as well as advanced engineering models of two-phase flows.
