Deputy Director of Development Grade 9

The Deputy Director of Development is a senior role responsible for the delivery of the philanthropic fundraising strategy at the University of Liverpool. Reporting to the Director this role is part of the Development and Alumni Relations management team, contributing to strategic planning activities.

Working closely with the Director to drive the fundraising strategy, and with a particular focus on building relationships with, and gifts from, high net worth individuals, this role will appeal to a talented major gifts fundraiser who possess excellent interpersonal skills, an inherent ability to lead people, excellent project management and organisational skills.

Managing a team of five, this role requires motivational leadership, and a proven tracked record of achieving significant fundraising targets and successful securing donations from high net worth individuals primarily as well as other sources such as businesses and charitable trusts. 

You will excel in working within a results-oriented environment, and bring demonstrated experience in establishing credibility and managing a complex set of relationships with high net worth individuals and stakeholders across organisations.

You should have a degree (or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience) and have well rounded experience of strategic development and supporter engagement activities at a senior level, from relevant sectors including the Arts, Voluntary or Higher Education.
