Policy Adviser - Health

Sightsavers is looking for a Policy Adviser to join our Policy and Global Advocacy team to lead policy analysis and engagement on health.

This role focuses on influencing national and international policies on eye health and neglected tropical diseases within the broader global health agenda, to ensure that people have access to effective, safe, quality eye health and health services. From a systems perspective, in addition to promoting good leadership and governance of the health sector, the role focuses on strengthening the capacity of health management information systems to produce, analyse and use reliable, timely data to understand health status of the population, the performance of the health system and the broader social determinants of health.

The post-holder will conduct analysis and generate evidence to deliver Sightsavers policy objectives, influence the development and monitor the implementation of thematic polices, and represent Sightsavers on relevant networks and external forums to help influence and drive the policy change we are striving for.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in the international development sector, including of policy influencing work at national and international levels, and possess strong analytical and writing skills, with a proven track record of using evidence to deliver change. They will be a pro-active team player with the ability to manage their time effectively against agreed deadlines. French language skills are beneficial. Some international travel will be expected.

2 stage interview process commencing the week of the 30th of October and the week commencing the 6th of November.
