Permanent contract

Together our staff and students are discovering innovative ways to change the world for the better and there has never been a more exciting time for you to join us. We are ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide and have an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research. We are led by discovery and innovation, with the synergy between research and learning at the core of our activity.

The Department of Informatics is growing its capability for interdisciplinary and applied research while maintaining a strong presence in the core discipline. As part of this strategy, which will be delivered through a number of appointments over the coming year, we seek an excellent researcher and teacher to help us develop one of two key areas - Human Computer Interaction - where there is a very strong potential for interdisciplinary work within as well as beyond our University.

We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong track record in Virtual Reality/ Augmented Reality (VR/AR). Outstanding applicants in the following areas will also be considered: Interaction Design, Experience-centred Design, Service Design, Ubiquitous Computing, and Physical Computing.

You will be expected to conduct high-level innovative research and teaching, including the publication of research, development of teaching materials, research supervision and income generation through research grants, consultancy, and/or knowledge transfer.
