About the role:

The Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including doctoral level studies. Our provisions include BSc/MSc pre-registration nursing, foundation degree studies and Degree Apprenticeship provision and we are one of the first to offer Degree Apprenticeships in nursing in September 2018.

We constantly pursue innovative approaches to develop and deliver curricula to meet the ever changing educational needs of the Health and Social Care workforce. We’re seeking a committed and experienced practitioner to support our established and developing Nursing courses particularly located within the practice learning environment. You’ll be part of a team dedicated to developing innovation in clinical teaching and learning and will provide a consistent and skilled source of support to students and their mentors and coaches through close partnership working with placement providers.

With a degree and professional registered qualification in Nursing, you’ll have a broad spectrum of clinical skills and clinical skills teaching experience and a commitment to developing skills caring professionals. You’ll need to demonstrate the ability to support, assess and evaluate students on the Nursing and Health programmes run by our University, and through excellent communication skills will provide support, clinical skills teaching and enhance the quality of clinical learning. With significant change via the pending publication of the new NMC Standards this is an exciting time to join our nursing education team.

You’ll need to be flexible to meet with students in the workplace which operate shift patterns and meetings may occur outside of normal office hours. You’ll be based primarily at the Chelmsford Campus, although a significant amount of time is expected to take place within the placement setting. Travel across Cambridge and Peterborough will be required.
