Learning Technologist (MPH Programmes)

The University of Edinburgh - Usher Institute

University of Edinburgh offers two Master of Public Health (MPH) programmes – one on-campus and one delivered entirely online. Both programmes aim to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to pursue successful careers in public health research and practice. This post will provide specialist professional e-learning technology advice, supporting staff and students to make innovative use of digital services and approaches in learning and teaching.

Based in the Usher Institute of Population Health Sciences and Informatics, you will report to the MPH programme directors and work closely with academic and support staff to make the best use of the institutionally supported virtual learning environment (Blackboard Learn) and learning technologies in both course design, build and user experience.

You will have proven experience of working with academics and professional staff to use digital services, especially virtual learning environments, as well as an in-depth understanding of digital learning platforms and how they can fully support learning and teaching.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and expert knowledge of a range of digital learning services, particularly virtual learning environments, will be key to this role.

The post will be taken up as soon as possible after 1st December 2017 and is fixed-term for 24 months (full time – 35 hours).

Please include your CV and a supporting statement with details of how you meet the knowledge, skills and experience required for this post.
