Professor in Human Resource Management

The School of Management of the University of Bath is seeking to appoint a Professor of Human Resource Management to take on a leading role in the development of HRM research and teaching. The successful applicant will have a notable international reputation and outstanding publication record.

The University of Bath School of Management is positioned among the top UK Business Schools and was ranked 2nd in the UK for Business and Management Studies (The Complete University Guide 2018) and 3rd for Business Studies (Sunday Times Ranking for 2018). It was also ranked 6th in the UK for world class and internationally-leading publications in the results of the 2014 Research Excellence Framework.

You would be joining a group of colleagues publishing in leading journals, such as Human Resource Management, the Human Resource Management Journal, and Human Relations as well as the Academy of Management Review, the Journal of Management Studies, the Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science and Organization Studies. Colleagues are active contributors to the academic community: editing journals, taking up leadership positions in professional bodies, organising workshops and conferences and supporting and training new researchers. You should share our passion for research and education as well as our desire to influence practice. You will have the opportunity to contribute to our range of highly rated undergraduate and postgraduate offerings, including the Bath MBA and specialised MSc programmes such as the MSc in Human Resource Management and Consulting.

The division is home to four research centres that support outstanding international research and scholarship, the Future of Work Research Centre, the interdisciplinary Research Centre for Strategic Change and Leadership (CSCL), the International Centre for Higher Education Management, and the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. We support and encourage interaction between academics, scholarly practitioners and doctoral students and offer a wide range of activities, including seminars, theory master classes and academic writing workshops.

The University of Bath is situated on a modern campus surrounded by attractive countryside overlooking the centre of Bath, a UNESCO-designated World Heritage City, famous for its Georgian architecture, and its annual literature and music festivals. It is a safe and friendly campus with strong student services and excellent sports facilities. Bath is located 100 miles west of London and is easily accessible by air, road and rail.
