Salary: £38,833 - £49,149 dependent on skills and experience

FTE: Full time, working 37 hours per week (1.0 fte)

Duration of Contract: 2 year Fixed Term Contract

Due to the expansion of the University of Hertfordshire’s Degree Apprenticeships programme, this exciting new post in the Hertfordshire Law School offers the opportunity for an individual with legal and teaching experience to play a key role in the development and delivery of the School’s ‘Solicitor’ programme.

Working with a wide range of stakeholders, the successful candidate will be engaging with employers, academic staff and students to secure and manage enrolments and ensure delivery of a high quality programme that meets the legal profession’s current standards.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Taking the lead on the development of a new degree apprenticeship programme, participating in academic quality assurance.
  • Processes and reviewing module content.
  • Teaching and supporting students, assisting with degree apprenticeship recruitment. 
  • Creating and maintaining good relationships with employers within the legal profession in order to secure enrolment opportunities.

Skills and experience needed
Applicants will need experience of, and expertise in, legal practice and/or practical legal education, particularly the Legal Practice Course, as well as experience of teaching and curriculum review and development. Excellent organisational and time management skills are also a requirement of this role.

Qualifications required
Good honours degree and postgraduate professional legal qualification.
