The RGU Foundation has been established to support the strategic aims of Robert Gordon University [RGU] through inspiring engagement, philanthropy and investment in the institution's vision to become recognised in Scotland, and beyond, as a distinctive university leading and shaping the future of higher education.

As Development Lead – Special Initiatives, your primary purpose is to be accountable and responsible for short and long-term planning, development, delivery and evaluation of major gift fundraising efforts at the University. You will be directly involved in the development and implementation of activities that impact the Foundation’s fundraising in support of RGU. You will also identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors on behalf of the Foundation and in collaboration with its partners.

This position exercises considerable independent leadership discretion in the development of business and engaging investors in a donor program. Reporting to the Foundation’s CEO, the individual operates across all aspects of fundraising leadership activities.

This position is accountable to develop strategy for business development to ensure funds are available to achieve the goals and objectives as established through the fundraising priorities of RGU.

Maintaining professional relationships with donors and demonstration of appropriate stewardship of philanthropic investment is vital to the success of this role. The ability to build strong relationships with community leaders and stakeholders is critical to securing the support the Foundation can provide for Robert Gordon University.

As would be expected in a role such as this, it should be noted evening and weekend work is likely for which time off in lieu can be claimed. The successful candidate will also be expected from time to time to carry out other duties which may be reasonably requested.
