Applications are sought for a Lecture or Senior Lecturer position within the vibrant and interdisciplinary Centre for Stem Cells in Cancer & Ageing to undertake high-level research, preferently into the field of stem cells and cancer, and to develop a programme aligned to the strategic objectives of the Centre.

Research in the Centre focuses on signalling, metabolism and immunology in the context of cancer (stem) cells and their tumour microenvironment. Candidates with complimentary interest in pancreatic cancer or other poor-outcome cancers with unmet medical need, are encouraged to apply. Individuals must be committed to working in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. The research will be based in the Centre for Stem Cells in Cancer and Ageing, Barts Cancer Institute, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London.

Required qualifications include a Ph.D. and/or M.D. (or equivalent), substantial training as a Postdoc (or equivalent) and a strong publication record.

The post is full time for 3 years in the first instance starting as soon as possible. Salary will depend on experience, Lecturer £45,577 (grade 6, sp 39) or Senior Lecturer £53,777 (grade 7, sp45) per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and an interest free season ticket loan.

The Barts Cancer Institute requires that applicants invited for interview will need to provide all certificates to confirm their qualifications (specified in the Job Description).

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
