Lecturer in Dance, Theatre & Performance

Plymouth Conservatoire is seeking to appoint a dynamic dance scholar and practitioner who can contribute to our dance and theatre and performance strands at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

With specialisms in choreography, dance analysis and the politics of movement, you must be able to evidence a deep and sustained critical engagement with the body in performance. A first degree in dance and a research qualification (or near completion) in a related dance field are essential. Relevant professional experience will be an additional advantage as well as knowledge in the field of applied dance/performance practices.

You will be expected to provide relevant and innovative perspectives on teaching and learning practices, and be able to contribute to contemporary fields of dance performance/production and research informed teaching across the curriculum. You will be expected to be able to demonstrate how you will enhance our international research profile.

The post also requires:

  • Experience of academic administration responsibilities;
  • Excellent academic and pastoral support for students;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively in a team and to take initiative and work autonomously.
