Teaching Fellow in Physical / Inorganic Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry is seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow to support delivery of Physical and Inorganic chemistry. The successful applicant will contribute to our core teaching activities, including delivering lectures, workshops, tutorials and assessing student learning across a range of modules. The post focusses on the area of Physical Chemistry, whilst the successful applicant will be expected to support laboratory provision for our Science Foundation year, Physical and Inorganic chemistry classes.

You will have:

  • Ability to engage in and take responsibility for delivering high quality teaching and learning
  • Obtained or expect to obtain a doctorate in chemistry or a related area
  • Good knowledge of core undergraduate chemistry
  • Experience of teaching in laboratory classes, including a good knowledge of standard laboratory techniques, COSHH and health and safety requirements of laboratory work
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
