About Development & Alumni Relations

The Development and Alumni Relations Office at Bath Spa University is relatively new and is now in a period of growth and expansion. Working with a committed and enthusiastic academic community and a dynamic and diverse body of alumni and other well-wishers, we are starting to reap rewards. This is a great time for an ambitious and driven development professional to play a key role in taking our fundraising to the next level.  

About the role

This is our first Major Gifts post. The post holder will take the lead cultivating their own portfolio of existing and potential donors, to raise significant levels of philanthropic income. The Major Gifts Officer will act as a key relationship manager for individual prospects, plus some corporates and legators, with a view to leading them towards support for a variety of needs and projects across the University. The post holder will also establish, build and maintain strong working relationships with both academic and professional services colleagues to ensure success. 

About you (requirements)

The successful applicant will have excellent relationship building skills, as well as being highly literate and articulate. They will be a persuasive influencer and negotiator and will be comfortable in a target-driven environment, ideally within the HE sector or the arts.
