The UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (GOS ICH), is looking to recruit a Deputy Institute Manager (Academic Programmes and Projects) to manage five academic programme support teams and lead on cross programme projects and initiatives. The post holder will support all programmes with regard to their wider role in Institute governance, strategy and operations. S/he will be responsible for delivering project management support for strategic initiatives and developments across the Programmes.

This will involve all aspects of project management from inception and development of the review outlines, through data gathering and analysis, drafting reports and recommendations, to the creation of implementation plans. The Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health holds an Athena SWAN Silver Award. In liaison with the Athena Swan academic lead the post holder will oversee the implementation of strategies to deliver the Athena Swan action plan. The post holder will lead on space planning and allocation across the five academic programmes and will also have responsibility for all non-laboratory health and safety issues. S/he will deputise for the Institute Manager in his/her absence.

The successful candidate must be educated to degree level or equivalent. S/he must have experience of line management, leading and motivating teams, the ability to define, initiate, manage and deliver projects, strong analytical and organisational skills and be able to interpret, present and summarise complex and technical data for a range of different audiences. A Prince 2 Project Management qualification would be desirable.
