Faculty Position in Luxury Brand Management

American University of Sharjah - School of Business Administration, Department of Marketing and Information Systems

The Department of Marketing and Information Systems invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in luxury brand management starting in the Fall 2018 semester. Candidates with prior research and teaching experience in the areas of luxury branding, brand management, consumer research and retailing are especially encouraged to apply. The appointment will be made at the rank of associate or full professor based on candidate qualifications. The salary is competitive, commensurate with experience, and is tax free in the UAE.  Free housing, paid utilities, and other excellent benefits are also provided. 

Chalhoub Group Professorship in Luxury Brand Management:
Successful candidates will be awarded an initial three-year appointment to the Chalhoub Professorship, subject to renewal for a second three-year term upon completion of the initial term. The Chalhoub Professor is responsible for curriculum development in addition to overseeing extant courses in the luxury curriculum. The holder of the position will also develop and manage the annual symposium in luxury brand management, held each year at AUS, through collaborations with stakeholders at School of Business Administration, AUS, and Chalhoub. The position will require 12 credits of teaching (4 courses) per academic year, and will be supported by a stipend and a research budget in addition to the regular faculty salary.

Job Qualifications:
The candidate must have a PhD in marketing from an AACSB-accredited university and qualify for the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The candidate must have an on-going research stream in high quality marketing journals with publications in the area of luxury branding, brand management, or consumer research and retailing. The candidate will demonstrate a strong record of initiating and leading research projects.  A successful candidate must be able to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
