Senior Lecturer (Academic) in Operations Management

Within the newly formed Faculty of Management the Department of Leadership, Strategy & Organisations is a growing group of academic and professionally qualified staff. It is involved in delivering units across various undergraduate and postgraduate business and management programmes to a high standard, and is active not only in the research world but also with its allied professional bodies such as the CIPD and CMI.  Department research themes include CSR/Sustainability, Critical Management Education, Leadership Identity and Diversity, Strategy Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Quantitative OB. Key programmes sitting within the department include the MBA which is CMI accredited and the undergraduate BA (Hons) Business Studies where links with external organisations and links with professional bodies support excellent graduate employment statistics.

You will be able to demonstrate emerging leadership and teamwork in the area of Operations Management, with a particular interest in Global Supply Chain Management and Lean Management.  Enthusiastic about student-centred pedagogy, you will contribute to education delivery, including programme management as required, across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.  You will make a significant contribution to employability, and professional engagement with relevant internal and external organisations, at a regional, national and international level.

You will be qualified to Doctorate level or be able to demonstrate the ability to create and disseminate knowledge at an equivalent level and the capability to convert this knowledge into a doctorate in a maximum of 3-5 years from the date of appointment. You will be research active in an area relevant to this post and committed to a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement. The department has a vibrant PhD student community and has a strong group of enthusiastic early career researchers.
