Associate Professor in Criminology

To deliver its top 20 ambition Swansea University is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor in Criminology with excellence in research in the College of Law & Criminology.

This is an exciting time for the College. Increasingly recognised as a leading centre for education and research in Law and Criminology, the College is undergoing a period of significant development and expansion under its Head, Professor Elwen Evans QC, and will be relocating to a new, purpose-built, Law School by 2020.

Our student applications are at record levels, and our international collaborations with academic, commercial and public sector organisations support student mobility as well as research that makes a difference around the world.

The successful candidate(s) will contribute to research and teaching in areas such as global criminology, cyber security, gender and crime, policing and social justice.

This job provides a role for a candidate with extensive academic experience and an established national and / or international reputation or its equivalent in terms of reach, significance and impact.

The appointee will be expected to expand their own research activities and be capable of linking with existing research areas and research teams in the College. They will also need to sustain and develop their own portfolio of funded projects, as well as maintain fruitful interactions and collaborations with industry and others. The appointee will seek to operate at an international level and publish research in the respected journals.
