We are recruiting one permanent Course Officer in the School of Arts and Social Sciences Academic Services team. The post will be to support the School's Centre for Languages and City's new BA in English programme.

Responsibilities

Reporting to a School’s Course Operations Manager, the post holder is responsible for the daily administration of allocated modules including academic support, student administration, assessment and overseeing the admissions process. You will have the responsibility for ensuring the provision of an efficient and professional service to students and academic staff, including the relevant Head of Department and visiting lecturers.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have developed excellent written, organisational, analytical and time-management skills. They will have exceptional written and oral communication skills, with experience of working with customers face-to-face and on the telephone with a 'customer-centred' approach. Strong IT skills including MS Excel, Word, e-mail and internet are essential. A good knowledge of SITS is also desirable.

We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in the HE sector and of student exchange programmes and/or work placements, although this is not essential.
