Postdoctoral Research Assistant

Fixed term 24 months

The successful candidate will work on a Rosetrees Trust Interdisciplinary Prize 2017-funded project on point of care detection of microRNA for early diagnosis of drug-induced liver injury. The successful candidate will be part of the multi-disciplinary research project led by Dr James Dear and Dr Maiwenn Kersaudy-Kerhoas. The proposed work will require the use of a broad range of techniques (CAD, microfluidic design and microfluidic manufacturing, 3D printing, clinical sample handling, blood counting) to develop a microfluidic platform for sample separation and detection of miR122 on-chip. The candidate will work alongside a research fellow with electrochemistry sensing experience in Dr Till Bachmann’s group. The applicant should hold a PhD in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or other related field.

The post is available for 24 months.
