Lecturer in Food Chemistry and Nutrition

University of Lincoln - College of Science – National Centre for Food Manufacturing

We require an individual with a passion for helping people to learn to teach Food Chemistry and Nutrition to our students who are employed in the food industry and study part-time at the National Centre for Food Manufacturing.

A satellite campus of the University of Lincoln, The National Centre for Food Manufacturing is a major resource for the UK’s food industry with over 250 major companies accessing courses, technical services and research. Our clients include the major national and global food manufacturing businesses and leading supermarkets and we collaborate with many international partners and universities. The NCFM has outstanding sector-focused facilities, including a state-of-the-art food factory demonstrating cutting edge food automation.

We are looking for a key individual to undertake teaching and help drive forward our applied research agenda. All of NCFM’s students are employed in the food industry and study on a part-time basis, with distance learning supported by block release the platform for delivery. The post holder will deliver teaching and learning to students studying on NCFM‘s Higher Education provision (Higher and Degree Apprenticeships, Degrees and postgraduate provision) and on occasions to Apprenticeships and students on short courses. The post holder will be committed to helping students learn and to the continued improvement in teaching practice and the student experience. With our provision underpinned by distance learning, the post holder will need to be IT savvy and open to experimentation in digital learning.

Alongside a key teaching remit, the post holder will focus on the advancement of NCFM’s applied research and innovation agenda, through applied industrial partnered research and trials with businesses.

Ideally, the post holder will have a background in applying their professional skills within or in direct support of the food manufacturing sector.
