We are looking for an adaptable, motivated, ‘can-do’ individual to join our team as a Polymer Processing Engineer to help us complete the processing, scale-up, testing and analysis required to prove our value propositions. This will require significant polymer processing experience and a desire to solve new challenges, combined with the capacity to contribute to the company’s longer-term goals.

Job Requirements

Essential

Minimum of 5 years industrial experience with good all-round polymer processing knowledge, to include:

  • Compounding
  • Injection moulding
  • Cast and blown film
  • Mechanical testing of plastics

The ability to analyse complex data sets and reduce multiple pieces of information into a concise message.

Academic qualification of a relevant higher national vocational diploma/certification.

Good communication skills with a variety of audiences from technical and non-technical backgrounds.

Good inter-personal and teamworking skills.

You must possess the following attributes:

Highly motivated, dynamic, proactive with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude along with good organizational skills.

The ability to collaborate with academic and industrial partners on multiple technical projects.

Desirable

Bachelor’s degree in materials / polymer technology.

Experience of equipment procurement.

Knowledge of plastic additive types and their typical uses.

Experience of project planning, management and delivering against an agreed budget.

Knowledge of plastic film types, their uses and the analytical methods used to analyse them.

Experience of working in a start-up environment and developing products from low-middle TRL levels through to market launch and beyond.
