The post

We are looking to appoint a post-doctoral research associate with expertise in applied econometrics to work on a project on “Determinants of UK Food Price Inflation”. The research project involves collaboration between the Universities of Exeter, Bournemouth and Sheffield to develop an econometric model of food price inflation in the UK. The research associate will work with Professors James Davidson and Steve McCorriston (Exeter), Professor Tim Lloyd (Bournemouth) and Professor Wyn Morgan (Sheffield) with the post being based at the University of Exeter. This full-time post is available immediately on a fixed term basis for 12 months. 

About you

The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or be nearing completion) or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes.

Experience with recent developments in time-series modelling and the estimation of VAR models is required for this post.

The starting salary will be from £28,936 up to £33,518 pa pro rata on Grade E, depending on qualifications and experience.
