Applications are invited for the full-time post of Finance and Administrative Assistant for the Childcare Services department based on Woodstock Road in Oxford.

We are looking for someone to join our busy, friendly team whose main responsibility will be processing day-to-day financial transactions for the Childcare Services team. This will include completing financial transactions relating to accounts payable for University and community nurseries, checking and paying invoices for all costs relevant to the childcare accounts, ensuring that invoices are correct and in accordance with the agreed terms in relation to colleges, nursery providers and other external suppliers, with accurate input to the University’s accounting system. All income will be checked and reconciled ensuring that the income potential for Childcare Service is maximised.

An ability to deal with people at all levels with a friendly, confident manner is essential as you will also be required to answer finance and administrative related queries which may be from suppliers, customers, staff or central finance team.

The post also requires accuracy and attention to detail and the postholder will be expected to carry out day-to-day processes independently in a professional, effective and efficient manner.

Previous experience of using the University’s Oracle financial system would be highly beneficial, although training will be provided.
