Applications are invited for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to contribute to the project “MY-STORE: Multi-energY storage-Social, TechnO-economic, Regulatory and Environmental assessment under uncertainty” funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). Within the context of this project, the opportunities of aggregating small to medium scale storage will be explored considering in detail the effects and interactions with the distribution network. You will be responsible for: modelling the deployment of storage in distribution networks across low and medium voltage levels using the distribution system analysis software package OpenDSS; modelling control strategies to achieve different objectives from the perspective of individual users as well as of aggregators aimed at providing a variety of services whilst considering network and customer constraints using the modelling language AIMMS; interacting/collaborating where and when appropriate with the rest of the project members; and producing technical reports and scientific papers for publication in international journals.

You must hold or be about to obtain a PhD in an area related to modelling and analysis of electricity networks. Proven experience carrying out medium and low voltage modelling of distribution networks, using OpenDSS with Matlab, VBA or Python, and using AIMMS are required. Experience in development of computer codes for control and/or optimisation of distribution networks is also required.
