Associate Professor in Accounting (Teaching)

Main Purpose of the Post

To deliver its top 20 ambition, and support the expansion of the Department of Accounting and Finance and the School of Management, Swansea University is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor in Accounting/Financial Management with excellence in teaching in the School of Management.

The successful candidate will be an excellent and committed teacher as well as a researcher with an international reputation. The successful candidate will be expected to expand their own research activities and be capable of linking with existing research areas and research teams in the School and if appropriate with other Schools or disciplines. They will also need to sustain and develop their own portfolio of funded projects, as well as maintain fruitful interactions and collaborations with industry and others where appropriate. The appointee will seek to operate at a UK and if appropriate international level and publish research in appropriate journals.  

This job provides a role for a candidate with extensive academic experience and an established national and/or international reputation or its equivalent in terms of reach, significance and impact in Accounting/Financial Management.

The job also requires a contribution to teaching and graduate supervision across the School, in addition to School management responsibilities.

The role of an Associate Professor

  • To produce and disseminate, through publications or other media, excellent research in Accounting or Financial Management.
  • To enhance the teaching quality and underpinning research and the reputation of the School;
  • To contribute to teaching of Accouning/Financial Management modules in the School.
