Technical Instructor (Domestic & Industrial Knit)

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Faculty of Arts Design & Humanities for a Technical Instructor in Domstic & Industial Knitting to join the Technical Services team. This support role will be working as part of a multi skilled team providing support to academic staff and students on craft and design programmes.

Experience of producing original patterns and knitted garments is essential, as is the need to put students first and to provide a safe productive environment for practical study. The successful candidate would ideally be educated to A level or equivalent and hold a relevant professional qualification in a design or textiles subject. They should have experience in a student focussed or HE environment, be a good team player and be able to deal effectively with both students and staff in an environment where priorities are likely to change at short notice.
