Senior Clinical Trials Coordinator

Applications are invited for a part-time Senior Clinical Trials Coordinator working as part of a small team that manage a portfolio of clinical trials and other clinical projects that are running in the Centre for Psychiatry. The Centre for Psychiatry is a small department with staff interests that include child and adolescent psychiatry, schizophrenia and personality disorder. Staff in the Clinical Trials Office work with a number of Investigators to deliver high quality multicentre studies. Currently, this includes a trial of the effectiveness of risperidone in Aggression Following Traumatic Brain Injury (AFTER), an evaluation of psychologically focussed advice and support for people with emotional distress and difficulties in relationships with others, and a trial of a modified video-feedback intervention for children and foster carers to improve mental health outcomes of children with reactive attachment disorder.

The post holder will take responsibility for much of the day-to-day management of the trials, overseeing all aspects of trial management, including monitoring, training, implementing and adapting established systems to ensure the trials are conducted to the highest scientific and regulatory standards, and monitoring the quality of data collected.

The successful candidate will have a first degree or equivalent in a biomedical science, psychology or allied field, together with organisational skills and proven experience in clinical trial/project management gained in multi-centre, randomised trials. S/he will also be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of the current legislation, regulations and standards relating to the management of clinical trials, including international trials.

The position is 21 hours per week (0.6 FTE) until 25 December 2018.
